Message from Tr. Denny, the event organizer:

Dear Quy Truong and ACE Phu Huynh,
As we gear up for an exciting scout year in 2025, we have a wide range of activities planned for our scouts. To make these plans a reality, we need your support!

In compliance with BSA/GSA rules, we require as many parents as possible to be fully registered and background-checked to participate in our scouts' activities. To streamline this process, we are hosting a training and informational session. This meeting will guide you through the registration process, explain the background check requirements, and provide an overview of our scout programs. We'll also discuss how you can contribute to making this year a memorable one for all our scouts.

This is a vital, once-a-year event, so we kindly ask for your commitment to attend. Please reply to this message with the number of attendees from your family so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you for your support in creating an incredible scouting experience for our kids!

Event Date: Sunday Jan 12, 2025
Time: 8:45am - 3pm
Location: Silvercreek, San Jose
Who should attend? All boy scout and girl scouts parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
Can you bring your kids? Yes, if you must bring your kids, please do so. We will prepare movies and some activities to keep the kids entertained while the parents are in the training.
What to bring? Please help to bring your own laptop/ipad/chair. If you can bring a table, please let me know as well.
Leaders/Truong: We need Truong to help with the training as well as food and other things. Please let me know if you can come and give us a hand.

Schedule of the event
  • 9am -11 am: State Mandated Reporter Training (2hrs)
  • 11am - 12pm: Fingerprint/LiveScan Service
  • 11:am - 12:30pm: Youth Protection Training (72 mins)
  • 12:30pm-1:15pm: Lunch
  • 1:15pm - 1:45pm: BoyScout and GirlScout Programs
  • 1:45pm - 2:15pm: Troop Committee Roles/Responsibilities
  • 2:15pm - 3pm: 2024 Activities Report, 2025 goals and Open Discussion

TDCL and TDGD: November 2024 Glamping at Lake View Campground

TDGD supported the TDCL leadership camp in style from November 15 to 17 at Lake View Campground in Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park. Event Photos A few words from our organizer, Tr. Denny: Thank you Quy Truong and ACE Trang Doan for participating in the camping last weekend. I hope by now you have fully recovered from the cold and food coma. I know it's a little bit different from our usual LD camping. Despite the cold weather and a little incident with the park ranger, I hope everyone had a good time at the camp with the awesome food from our amazing chefs. I know I know.... we had a lot of food.. but guess what we finished them all on the next day so nothing was wasted :). Our goal of this camp was to be there to support Thieu Doan for whatever they need and at the same time allowing parents/truongs the opportunity for more bonding.
