LDTG: 2025: Monterey Bay Aquarium Field Trip

We were thrilled that LDTG was kicking off the new year with a first-ever, unforgettable field trip to the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium! - View Event Photos

Thanks to our acceptance into the “Free to Learn” program, all participating scouts, adult leaders, and chaperones received free admission. This was an incredible opportunity for our scouts to explore marine wildlife, deepen their understanding of ocean conservation, and bond with fellow scouts while creating lasting memories.

Trip Schedule - Sunday 3/16/25

  • Meet at Berryessa park at 8:00 am. Parents drop off scouts with responsible unit leaders. Leaders check in people and confirm headcount.
  • Bus arrives by 8:30 am. Load buses and food.
  • 8:45-9:00 am: Leave SJ
  • 10:30 am: Arrives at Monterey, stays on the bus until we are allowed to enter.  
  • 11:00 am: Group enters the aquarium. Each unit has at least two adult leaders.
  • 12:15: Gather group to walk out to the picnic area outside the aquarium. Get a hand stamp to be able to come back.
  • 12:30 - 1:00 pm: lunch
  • 1:15 pm: Back to the aquarium. Continue viewing the exhibitions.
  • 3:00 pm: Gather everyone, use the bathroom, prepare to leave.
  • 3:30 pm: Leave the aquarium. Gather in front for headcount. Walk back to buses.
  • 4:00 pm: Leave Monterey. 

  • 5:30 pm: arrive back at Berryessa park. Parents need to pick up on-time.

TDCL and TDGD: November 2024 Glamping at Lake View Campground

TDGD supported the TDCL leadership camp in style from November 15 to 17 at Lake View Campground in Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park. Event Photos A few words from our organizer, Tr. Denny: Thank you Quy Truong and ACE Trang Doan for participating in the camping last weekend. I hope by now you have fully recovered from the cold and food coma. I know it's a little bit different from our usual LD camping. Despite the cold weather and a little incident with the park ranger, I hope everyone had a good time at the camp with the awesome food from our amazing chefs. I know I know.... we had a lot of food.. but guess what we finished them all on the next day so nothing was wasted :). Our goal of this camp was to be there to support Thieu Doan for whatever they need and at the same time allowing parents/truongs the opportunity for more bonding. At least we achieved that goal in my personal opinion. So thank you all again for coming and lending a hand to make it yet another suc...
