A Heartfelt THANK YOU from Lien Doan Truong Giang's New Wood Badgers!
Dear Tr. Lam Nguyễn, Sally Erickson, Douglas Breckenridge, Joan Takenaka, Tr. Long Tran, Tr. Maurice Le, Tr. My Nguyen, Tr. Anthony Vo, Sue Doherty, Joe Felchlin, Cam Felchlin, Jim Willey, and Sheng Song,
On behalf of the 8 newly "beaded" and very excited Wood Badgers from Lien Doan Truong Giang, we wanted to send a huge thank you for your incredible support, presence, and efforts at our Wood Badge Ceremony this past Sunday, May 4th, at Berryessa Park!
Your hard work behind the scenes and on the day with the wonderful ceremony preparations, meticulous setup, and smooth logistics was fantastic and truly helped make the entire event seamless and special for all of us!
We also have to give a big, enthusiastic shout-out for the beautiful Wood Badge logs and axes! They were an awesome centerpiece for the ceremony and made for some truly memorable (and very official-looking!) photos that we'll treasure.
Furthermore, the lively and engaging program you helped facilitate was fantastic. It did a wonderful job educating our attending parents and Scouts about the meaning, tradition, and spirit of Wood Badge, bringing so much context to the occasion.
We were so honored and thrilled to have you all there to share this milestone with us. Since we don't have the email addresses for all the BSA Wood Badge leaders who graced us with their presence, if you wouldn't mind, please do forward this thank you note onward to any others who joined us on Sunday. We'd love for them to know how much we appreciated their support too!
Thank you once again for dedicating your valuable time and energy to make our Wood Badge ceremony so impactful and fun. Your commitment to Scouting truly shines!
With sincere gratitude and big Scouting smiles,
The 8 Wood Badgers
HUGE Thanks for an Awesome Wood Badge Ceremony!
On behalf of the 8 brand-new Wood Badgers from this past Sunday's ceremony (May 4th, 2025), we wanted to send out a massive, cheerful THANK YOU to every single person who helped make the event at Berryessa Park such a roaring success and so much fun! Seriously, you all rocked it!
We couldn't have pulled off such a smooth and memorable ceremony without our amazing Scout Leaders lending their time and talents:
Huge applause for Tr. Nhan, our fantastic Master of Ceremonies, who kept the program flowing beautifully!
Major kudos to Tr. Minh Doan & Tr. Lan for being the ultimate logistics wizards – organizing the food, tables, chairs, and those very necessary sun shades! You kept us fed, comfortable, and cool!
A big thank you to our incredible Wood Badge recipient assistants: Tr. Chanh, Tr. Dieu-Lien, Tr. Di, Tr. Minh Nguyen, Tr. Lan, Tr. Stacy, Co Huong, and chi Cam. You were all excellent and made everything run seamlessly for us!
Thanks Tr. Minh Nguyen for the lovely pin.
And to our incredible Parents – WOW! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Your energy and support were amazing. Thanks for:
Showing up bright and early at Berryessa Park to help set everything up!
Mastering the food logistics like pros!
Doing the crucial food pick-up runs!
Cooking up those absolutely delicious Vietnamese meals and desserts that everyone raved about!
Creating one of the biggest and most vibrant turnouts we've seen at the park – your presence made the day truly special!
It was also fantastic to have BSA officials and esteemed Leaders from other scouting units join us to show their support. They shared with us that they were incredibly impressed by the fantastic parent and scout attendance and mentioned they had never seen such an amazing turnout for this type of event! That's a huge testament to the spirit and dedication of our entire group – you made us all proud!
A special shout-out and welcome to our newer parent members who contributed some seriously tasty desserts – what a wonderful way to jump in! And another round of applause is definitely needed for Tr. Minh Doan & Tr. Lan for cooking up that incredible Bo Kho (beef stew) – it was a definite crowd-pleaser!
As the ceremony concluded and the beads were presented, let us remember that Wood Badge is not an end, but a beginning. It's a fresh start and a renewed commitment. May each of us continue to find joy and purpose as we serve and strengthen the scouting movement together, bringing fun and learning to our youth.
With immense gratitude and big smiles,
Your 2025 Wood Badgers (All 8 of Us!)
