Message from the Camp Chief:

Dear Leaders and Parents,

Hopefully everyone recovers and be back to our normal life after our LDTG 16th Anniversary Butano Camp!

No worries! I will not unload more camping tasks and assignments, ha ha ha :)

On behalf of our camp committee and staff, I deeply want to express the hearty gratitude and sincere appreciation to Truongs, camp staff, and parents for your thoughts, hard works, uplift spirits, kindness, and tireless support so that we all were able to enjoy a wonderful camping event.

There are no words to describe and measure the dedication that you all had contributed in the preparation and execution of the planned tasks and activities throughout the camping days.

Of course, no matter how much we had thought about the details and expectations, we certainly would come short on certain matters that would affect our campers. But they were just the unseen matters and could be the miscommunication when we carried out the plans.

From a different angle, we had so much fun by spending time together, listening beautiful songs from our singers, having delicious meals, learning the unique camp fire ceremony, seeing the kids' performance, learning a bit of our Vietnamese histories, sharing our jokes and life stories, and lighting up the smiles on children faces that overwhelmingly washed off the minor issues we did not anticipate.

I personally reflected and admitted that there were few matters that we did not have clear communication across the camp staff, and there were some confusions due to lack of clear instructions while we had tried to establish orders and settled all campers at the sites.
However, the troop leaders and camp staffs certainly recognized the missteps and acknowledged the feedback from parents. This is a great beginning of the leaders and parents sharing our visions and focusing on what should be done to move our LDTG into an adaptable troop with great collaboration so we will provide a well playing and learning ground to our scouting children.
