Other Award Recognition for June 2024 - April 2025

Bronze Award Project:
D.E.A. (Diana Ellie Annie) Animal Loves
Take Action Project

We are thrilled to recognize Diana, Annie & Elysa of our 2023-2024 Bronze Award team. Though they faced some unusual challenges, they persevered and made blankets and rice warmers to directly help shelter animals as well as a video to raise awareness of shelter animals.

Besides the usual challenges like coordinating schedules, learning project management and time management, team members live in opposite ends of the county. This BA team was also youngest we have had. Two were first year Juniors (one of whom skipped a grade) and one second year Junior.

Just as important as the project were the lessons the girls learned . They learned the importance of teamwork as well as the importance of having fun as they work. They exhibited tremendous growth over the course of the project. We are honored to recognize their achievement.

- Nominated by Tr. Raymond and Tr. Kim

Silver Award Project:
Youth Wellness Workshop
Take Action Project

In 2024, Caitlyn, Jody, and Mai Anh began their Silver Award project. They found themselves having a common interest in the healthcare field, but each with a more specific focus. Caitlyn wanted to raise awareness on kitchen safety and oral health, Mai Anh wanted to promote healthy habits, and Jody was into sports activities and mental health. When they combined all their ideas together, the project idea was born. The team wanted to host a Youth Wellness Workshop to share their valuable wisdom with youths in the community. They reached out to  health professionals through the scouting network. They collaborated and discussed ideas with a pediatrician, two dentists, and a child psychologist, who gave them good advice to apply to the workshop.

Through their hard work and dedication, these girls managed to put together a successful workshop, serving about 40 youths in the audience. The workshop included age-appropriate presentations on helpful health topics as well as interactive activity booths to encourage the young audience to adopt healthy habits. The workshop was a huge challenge the team did not think they could handle at the beginning. However, with careful planning following guidance by their advisors, they stayed focused and determined to complete the project. Caitlyn, Jody, and Mai Anh reflected that they learned by leaps and bounds and they have gained a lot more confidence and many good skills after completing the project. Congratulations to Caitlyn, Jody, and Mai Anh for a job well done.

- Nominated by Tr. Nhan and Tr. Maggie

Cadette aMAZE Journey: Take Action Project

Senior Mission Sisterhood Journey: Take Action Project

For the school years of 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, I was elected as the Student Leadership Team secretary. Being a Student Leadership member, I contributed my ideas for events, including spirit days and fundraisers. As a student officer, I delivered announcements every Monday morning through the intercom. I was also the MC for many events such as the monthly Leadership Rally, Lunar New Year Performances, Talent Shows, and Winter Performances. Specifically as a secretary, I created the agendas for our meetings, took attendance at each meeting, recorded notes, and created Student Leadership announcements to be shared with the rest of the school.

In Troop 60964, I’m the event chair so I work with the rest of the board to plan bondings and activities during the weekly meetings. I also inform the rest of the girls about volunteer events and leadership opportunities.

- Girl Scout Emily, Troop 60964
