They led the TNHG on

  • The Inner Beauty Campaign to encourage girls to focus on their inner beauty as opposed to the outside look influenced by the society that might affict girls negatively.  They led on activities that help TNHG girls to improve their confidence.
  • The Summer FUN Event to strengthen the bond among the TNHG girls, promotingthe Girl Scouting Sisterhood!
  • The TNHG Board Member Journal that will pass down to the next TNHG board members.  The journal contains the experience and advice of past board members to help the new ones to get adjusted to the new positions.
  • The Keepsake Box that contains all the donated items of the TNHG girls so that the Rising Cadettes can pick out a few items for keepsakes when they first bridge over to Thieu Nu Huong Giang. This generates the spirit of Scouting and Sisterhood. The Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) will hold on to the journal and keepsake box and will hand over to the next SPL.
These are Hillary and Katherine's Take Actions while learning about the journey.
An acceptional job well done!

Summer FUN Event

In their own words:

Katherine - It was a fun and great experience. Watching the girls work together in team activities and be able to create whatever they wanted from beads, from bag charms to bracelets and even phone charms! Seeing as we never gave ourself a budget, I supposed we went overboard a little but we didn’t go over it too badly. We spent about $220 all in all but with over 16 girls coming along with providing food and drinks for the 4 Tr’s too? I honestly think we did great with our budgeting. It was practically $11 per person overall. If I were ever able to do this again, I would’ve done it the same way we did this bonding. Without worrying too much about the budget and buying stuff that was cheap and in bulk, I didn’t feel as stressed out as last bonding where the past board had to stress over lots of planning and things. During the planning of the bonding, Hillary and I met up a few times ourself, discussing our planning and how we wanted the event to go, even thinking about the time to make sure we would be able to do every activity that was on the schedule in the given time slot. We even finished an activity early to my surprise! With our break from finishing one of the activities early, the girls did Trivia together to earn charm and were even able to do Karaoke in Tr Trang’s garage!

Hillary - The bonding was a nice and relaxing day, with perfect weather! The bracelet making was simple to do and allowed lots of creative freedom. The games were also fun to host, especially the first game where I randomly give trivia, guess what I’m thinking game, or rock, paper, scissors. Overall, it was a pretty chill day with simple fun. It was a bit exhausting to show lots of energy but even so, it was still fun. Planning with Katherine was a cool experience since we both had different ideas but we made them work nicely on the final day. It was interesting trying to find prizes for the games and now I appreciate the truongs who have to find prizes for camp. I’m surprised our schedule finished on time because for the past bondings, we always have some activities we don’t get to try or finish. This is a good reference because it can make planning for future bondings easier. I’m really happy with how the bonding came out. Some things I might change is maybe talk more with Katherine about how the prizes would go but other than that, the bonding was a huge success!

TNHG Board Member Journal

In their own words:

Hillary - The time capsule was a really nice idea for future scouts. The journal was a nice touch to keep it going for future board members and it helps you reflect on how you did this year and how to help the younger scouts. It turned out really cute and I can’t wait to see it passed along when I’m still in scouts.

Katherine - Writing down advice for the future board members and our experience in that certain position allows the girls to understand what they need to do in the role. I like this new way where the girls who come up will be able to take an item out of the time capsule. I hope this tradition continues as I stay with the girls for my final years and when I come back, to see it still going.
